ICC Hall 3.
Backstage Dressing Room Refurbishment.
The project, in detail
ARK Carpentry Contractors were appointed to deliver the full refurbishment of four backstage dressing rooms and their adjoining ensuite shower facilities within ICC Hall 3 at the renowned International Convention Centre Birmingham, part of the wider NEC Group estate.
Working within a strict four-week programme, our brief was to completely transform the existing dressing room facilities into contemporary, high-specification spaces suitable for performers, speakers, and VIP guests. The original rooms had become dated and worn over time, with tired finishes, inefficient layouts, and ageing fixtures that no longer reflected the premium standards of the venue.
- Full strip-out of existing fixtures, fittings, and finishes
- Reconfiguration and upgrade of dressing room layouts
- Complete refurbishment of adjoining ensuite shower rooms
- Installation of bespoke joinery, vanity units, and integrated storage
- New wall panelling, flooring, ceilings, and decorative finishes
- Plumbing and electrical upgrades to meet modern performance standards
- Installation of high-quality sanitaryware and brassware
Our in-house expertise and attention to detail were central to the transformation. The design approach focused on creating a calm, functional, and luxurious backstage environment. We carefully selected high-end, durable materials to ensure both visual impact and long-term performance in a high-traffic events setting.
Modern lighting schemes were introduced to enhance usability for performers preparing for stage appearances, while bespoke fitted furniture maximised storage without compromising on space. In the ensuite areas, premium finishes and robust materials were chosen to withstand heavy usage while maintaining a sleek, contemporary aesthetic.
